About the Port
September 16, 1986 – Voters approve the formation of the Port District.
1987–1989 — The Port begins purchasing land on Galvin Road to begin construction of the Park I development.
1990 — Roger’s Machinery Company, Inc becomes the first Port tenant.
1994 — The Port is awarded “Port of the Year” from the Washington Public Ports Association.
1994–1995 — The Port constructs four buildings for small start-up manufacturing companies along Midway Court.
1996 — Washington Poster Company, Inc announces its intentions to locate their new manufacturing plant in the Port.
1997 — The design for the Port of Centralia’s Administrative Office is complete and construction begins.
1998 — The Port announces its plans for a 20,000 sq ft building and construction begins.
2001 — Simpson Door Company announces its new plant at the Port.
2002 — Construction begins for Steelhammer Drive and the rail transload facility.
2003 — The Port of Centralia announces the formation of its new Park II development.
2004 — Plastic Services & Products, LLC locates its pipe manufacturing business to Park I. The Port constructs two new buildings on Midway Court.
2005–2006 — Industrial Park II construction begins for Michaels Distribution Center, Centralia Sawmill Company, Scot Industries, Mowat Construction, and Tarragon LLC. Industrial Park I acquires Dick’s Brewing Company and Gorham Printing as tenants.
2007 — The Port welcomed new tenant Opus NW. Sierra Pacific Industries acquires and expands the Centralia Sawmill Company plant.
2008 — Blue Rhino, Lowe’s, and Millard Refrigerated Services, Inc locate in the Port of Centralia.
2009 — Sayler Custom Controls and Quick Quotes, Inc move to the Port’s Park I development.
2010 — The Port of Centralia welcomes new tenant BE Pressure Supply. Dick’s Brewing Company is named “Business of the Year” by Centralia-Chehalis Chamber of Commerce.
2011 — Puget Sound & Pacific Railroad moves its administrative headquarters to Park I. The Port of Centralia celebrates its 25th anniversary.
